There were three Betway Premiership League Fixtures across South Africa yesterday with a total of 10 goals scored and one match washed away.

The Betway Premiership matches between Golden Arrows Football Club and Orlando Pirates FC postponed last night due to a waterlogged pitch at Mpumalanga Stadium in Hammarsdale.
Sundowns clobber Gallants
In Bloemfontein, Mamelodi Sundowns FC came from behind to overcome Marumo Gallants FC 3-1 at Seisa Ramabodu Stadium.
Gallants got the clash to an interesting start with a 37th minute goal from a Sede Dion thumping header. The defending league champions found themselves trailing in the first half.
Sundowns responded through Marcelo Allende’s 57th minute goal to level the scores. In the 79th minute, Lucas Ribeiro added a second to give Sundown 2-1 lead.
At this stage, Marumo Gallants were on the back foot in their own backyard and had to dig deep to claw back. Just two minutes from Ribeiro’ strike, Iqraam Rayners made matters worse for the host by finding the back of the net.
This 81st Rayners goal gave Sundowns a commanding lead. As it were, Gallants had more hurdles to go through and never recovered.
Consequently, Mamelodi Sundowns won the draw and stretched their lead to 12 points. They are on top of the league after 18 games.
Meanwhile, Gallants are 14th in the league standings with 15 points in 17 fixtures played.
Sekhukhune beat AmaZulu
There was a 6-goal thriller between Polokwane Sekhukhune United FC and AmaZulu at Old Peter Mokaba yesterday.It took the first four minutes of the Betway Premiership, Etiosa Ighodaro opened the AmaZulu account.
Sekhukhune were not to be outperformed in front of their home crowd. Andy Boyeli restored the score in the 24th minute.
In the second half, Sekhukhune went 2-1 up in the 53rd minute through Keletso Makgalwa. The crescendo of the midweek league match got really captivating.
AmaZulu got back into the game with Elmo Kambindu strike in the 78th minute to bring both sides a 2-2 situation. Three minutes later, Linda Mntambo returned Sekhukhune to a 3-2 advantage.
Then in the 86th minute, Mntambo struck again and put the game beyond AmaZulu reach.In the end, Sekhukhune United secured the match 4-2.
This victory, they are in 4th position on the table with 28 points post 17 fixtures. Similarly, AmaZulu, lay 8th with 23 points after playing 17 matches in the 2024/2025 league season.
