SuperSport crush Chiefs 4-1 in Betway Premiership

Kaizer Chiefs Football Club suffered a 4-1 crushing defeat to SuperSport United FC at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg tonight.

Samir Nurkovic, former Chiefs striker, open the floodgates on the third minute from kickoff to give SuperSport a 1-0 lead.

However, the home side restored parity through Makapi Lilepo in the 30th minute of the first half. Hardly two minutes later, SuperSport regained the lead from a Christian Basomboli strike to make 2-1.

In the second, the visitors increased the deficit when Gamphami Lungu scored in the 63rd minute of the game.

Chiefs were now serious trailing and in jeopardy of losing a home league game. Matters got worse when Gastón Sirino got a red card, reducing Chiefs to 10 men.

SuperSport leveraged on their numerical advantage and further increased the tally to 4-1 in the 83rd minute, thanks to Siphesihle Ndlovu. Then Kaizer Chiefs were effectively down and out.

Despite this convincing win, SuperSport are still 12th on the log with 20 points from their 18 of the 2024/2025 league campaign games.

Similarly, Chiefs are still lying 6th on the league table from 18 games that resulted in 25 points so far.
