Cape Town City Football Club got their second successive win over the Soweto giant, Orlando Pirates FC, at DHL Cape Town Stadium in Cape Town last night.

Darwin González got the all important goal that settled the score for the Betway Premiership League duel in the 74th minute.

Directly three minutes prior, Patrick Maswanganyi was denied by the upright from a resultant penalty kick granted to Pirates.

This Pirates loss means they remain second on the with 27 points after 11 games. Meanwhile the Citizens move from 13th to 6th on the log with 17 points post 12 games.

As for the newly appointed City head coach Mushin Ertuğral, this win will go a long way in his second match of the league after succeeding Erick Tinkler.
