South Africa’s Premier Soccer League giants Kaizer Chiefs Football Club have not tasted cup glory for almost a decade to date. At the center of this regression has been the chopping and changing of their technical team seasons’ on end.

However, on Sunday they announced the hiring of a new coach Nasreddine Nabi from Tunisia.

On its X acoount, Kaiser Chiefs@KaiserChiefs, the club posted that:

“We are delighted to welcome Coach Nasreddine Nabi to the Kaizer Chiefs family. We are happy to have you with us, Coach.”

Nabi replaces Molefi Ntseki who was sacked in October 23 after a string of poor results and replaced with an interim coach Cavin Johnson. All these changes did not produce the goods and hence the latter also faced the dreaded axe.

The new sheriff at Naturena, the homebase of Kaiser Chiefs, was expected last season and that deal fell through the cracks. But this time the club went all out to secure the most-wanted man. As the dictates of modern football go, Nabi will descend to Amakhosi (as affectionately known), with his technical team entourage.

The 58-year-old coaching’s professional pedigree boast Al Ahly Benghazi Sports Club (Libya) Al-Hilal Club Ismaily (Sudan), Sporting Club (Egypt), Al-Merreikh Sporting Club (Sudan), Young Africans Sport Club (Tanzania) and most recently, Association des Forces Armées Royales/FAR Rabat (Morocco).

Kaiser Chiefs are one of the biggest brands in African football and Nabi will be expected to return the club back to its prominence regarding playing and winning trophies.
