With host nation Germany having qualified for the second round of the 2024 UEFA European Championship, there are two countries from Group A that could still join them in concert. Additionally, there is a room to capitalize on the 3rd-place best finisher in each of the Groups A to F. There is a lot to play for in this epic continental showpiece.

Scotland has a herculean challenge to overcome Hungary convincingly in its bid to advance to Euro 2024 knockout stage.
This Group A match is scheduled at MHP Arena in Stuttgart at 21h00.
On the other hand, in a corresponding kickoff time in Frankfurt Switzerland will take on the impressive Germans at Deutsche Bank Park Stadium.
Germany has already qualified with six (6) from its commanding 5-1 victory against Scotland and 2-1 win over Hungary.
And Switzerland has garnered four (4) points with maximum from Hungary (score: 3-1) and a 1-1 draw with Scotland.
It stands to reason that Scotland needs an emphatic victory tonight.
For the 2nd-place in the group, even if the Scottish master a win, it may not be enough on its own. It will still depend on what happens between Switzerland and Germany in the same group.
However, they may still qualify by virtue of being one of the four (4) best 3rd-placed nations that make the cut for the round of 16.
The obvious knockout-stage route though is that the two top-of-the-group countries will progress to the elimination phase.
Meanwhile Hungary-s chancesmto stay in the tournament are the slimmest. A loss or draw will spell their exit out of the 17th edition of UEFA European 2024 Championship. In the same vein, Scotland’s chances are far better to sneak through.
To put themselves in a good stead though, the Scottish need to score more than three goals without conceding and hope Germany clobbers Switzerland by a high score margin.
However, the Swiss have carved out a better advantage by accumulating four points and the sterler 3-1 victory over Hungary may well be all they need to advance.
Therefore, tonight’s Scottish game against the Hungarians is their last ditch effort to proceed in Euro 2024.
For the time being, the Swiss just need a draw.
Even so, they need to do better against Germany to emerge top of the group and inspire confidence in the team. And what a win it will be to put up a sweet one over their hosts.
Nevertheless, Germany is safe on top of the group and have already secured the qualification passage.
Additionally, the Germans may want to keep the winning momentum intact by edging out their rivals [the Swiss] tonight. It will also be quite a sight for the hordes of home crowd chanting gloriously in their very own backyard.
So, there is no gain saying that an electrifying spectacle lies ahead of the kickoff that will take place concurrently among the teams on this given Saturday European night.
