Host Germany will get the European Championship (Euro) ball rolling against Scotland at Allianz Arena in Munich tonight.

This is the 17th edition of the European Football Association (UEFA) where 24 national teams will battle it out for the coveted 2026 continental ultimate prize.

Alongside this duel in Group A tonight are Switzerland and Hungary scheduled to kick off on Saturday at 15h00.

Again, holders Italy will face Albania in Group B at 21h00. But before this particular fixture, Spain and Croatia will lock horns in the same group.

Of course, tonight’s opener will be preceded by the traditional ritual of song, art, performance and dance in welcoming hordes of fans across the spectrum before the actual ping-pong in the pitch.

Regarding this tier this Friday night, the Germans are outright favourites. However, Scotland may come out of the blocks determined to frustrate their opponents.

So, the race for claiming the biggest championship at national level is up for grabs.
