Nigeria meets South Africa qgain in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers qualification match at Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Nigeria on Friday.

This Group C fixture kicks off at 21h00 tonight.

This fixture is reminiscent of the African Cup of Nations tie where South Africa (SA) lost on penalties to nigeria earlier this year.

Tonight they come toe-to-toe once more for a berth in the World Cup qualification stages. Indeed, Nigeria have an upper owing to their win a few months ago. But they are also better equipped with most of their players coming from top European leagues.

The bulk of the SA team play in the domestic league with the well-travelled Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club continent providing the core of the team.

 In the meantime, Lesotho holds a 5-point lead from three matches. Nigeria and SA are for their 3rd apiece and have both collected  three points from their two exhausted fixtures.

Consequently, South Africa occupies the fourth position while Nigeria is 5th.

The other teams that complete this group of six nations are second-placed Rwanda, third-placed Benin on 4 points each, as well as Zimbabwe.lying 6th with merely two points.
