South Africa annihilated Namibia in a must-win Group E clash of the 2023 African Cup of Nations fixture in Ivory Coast.

When hope seemed dissipating back home, South Africa (SA) delivered a sterling performance in a Group E match on Sunday night.

Bafana Bafana (SA) found the back of the net four times against Namibia at Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium in Korhog in Ivory Coast.

To make amends from their loss to Mali Mali in theory opening fame, Percy Tau drilled a penalty home 14 minutes from kickoff to give SA the lead.

Namibia were jolted to fight back but Themba Zwane whipped the second goal on the 25th minute to take the scoreline to 2-0.  He completed his brace in the 40th minute to set Namibia a 3-0 tally to chase

Thapela Maseko made the job of the opponents impossible with off the bench strike of the 75th minute. At 4-0, the suffocating Brave Warriors [Namibians] were crushed.

Bafana Bafana’s first three points placed them second in the group due to a 2-goal advantage over Namibia, in third position, thanks to their three points collected after a Tunisia win.

Mali are on top with four points while Tunisia lie bottom with one point. All the four teams have played two games so far and are left with the final fixture in the 2023 AFCON group stages.

The Group E matches between South Africa and Tunisia, as well as Mali against Namibia, are scheduled
