Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club are kings of the inaugural African Football League on Sunday in South Africa.

They beat Morocco’s Wydad Athletic Club 2-0 in the second of the new Confederation of African Football tournament at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria. In the first-leg played in Casablanca, Wydad won 2-1. Combining both outcomes they add up to 3-2 in favour of Sundowns.

Today Peter Shalulile (45+3′) gave the home side a lead in the first half and Aubrey Modiba (53′) doubled the score to seal the deal.

The goalkeeper of the AFL was Ronwin Williams of Sundowns. His team Thapelo Maseko notched up both the MVP (most valuable player) and top goal scorer of the competition.
