No matter how long it takes, a stalemate is bound to break. When it finally does, some debilitating causalities will be recorded alongside enriching triumphs.

Today is a case in point when Mamelodi Sundowns welcome Kaizer Chiefs on their return for the MTN8 Cup semi-final fixture this afternoon at Lucas “Masterpieces” Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville, west of Pretoria.

Kick off is at 15h00.

In their first-leg, both the South African giants of football drew 1-1 at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg three weeks ago.

Sundowns have an upper hand slightly arising from an away goal secured in their earlier encounter. It is an advantage only if Chiefs fail to score a goal today.

As a way of bolstering their defense line and improving the overall squad, Chiefs have enlisted the services of Sibongiseni Mthethwa from Stellenbosch FC during the course of this week.

The Brazilians [Sundowns] are renowned for their elaborated stars that keep on mesmerizing opponents week in and week out.

Even so, a semi-final match that must only see one team progress as the other bites the dust can go either way. The club that shows up with superior tactics will secure the MTN8 Cup final final berth against Orlando Pirates or Stellenbosch.

Pirates will take to Orlando Stadium with their heads held high in Soweto on Sunday after beating Stellenbosch 2-1 away in Cape Town in their first-leg tie.

Tomorrow’s second-leg duel will be played at 15h00.
