Stellenbosch Football Club has the sternest test to face and overcome Orlando Pirates FC in the 1st-leg of the MTN8 Cup semi-final at Athlone Stadium in Cape Town this afternoon at 15h00.

The Buccaneers [Pirates] are the current holders and one of the big clubs in South Africa.

However, Stellenbosch have proven a tough side to beat despite their shallow pedigree in top-flight football. Indeed, Stellies pulled a shock win over Pirates in the opening match of the new-league (2023/2024) season.

Regardless of today’s outcome, the duo will meet again in the 2nd-leg of the MTN8 Cup semi-final at Orlando Stadium in Soweto, Johannesburg on Sept. 24.
