The beautiful game concerning the men’s club football roars to a new 2023/2024 campaign in South Africa.

The waiting for the number one entertainment sport in the country is over. Last season champions Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club (FC) kickstart their league title defense tonight at 19h30.

They travel to Sekhukhune United FC in the opening DStv Premiership at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, Limpopo Province.

Although majority of the elite division sides prepared their new campaign in home soil, Sundowns are one of the clubs that went abroad for their off season team-building and preparation for the next campaign.

Sekhukhune are the hosts for their opening league match and will hope nothing getter than a home positive outcome. The Pretoria giants, for all their excursions in Netherlands, Europe, they will hope for a crushing victory to make their presence felt. 

However, Sekhukhune will try to frustrate the holding champions by impeding Sundowns’ obvious ambitions to retain the throne in their quest too get off to a flying start.

As tradition dictates, should the game end without a winner, the clubs will share the spoils. Whatever the outcome between the Premier Soccer League clubs, tonight marks the commencement of the new league season in the South Africa.
