Reigning world champions France square up against Argentina in the FIFA 2022 World Cup final at Lusail Stadium in Lusail on Sunday at 17h00.

Both countries have won this biggest prestigious trophy in the globe on two occasions: with France in 2018, 1998 and Argentina in 1986 and 1978.

While France want to win it consequently, a win by either side will take them there time winners.

Notably, the 2022 edition pits two prominent players – Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe – who have contributed immensely to propelling their nations into the final. 

Messi and Mbappe are Paris Saint Germain Football Club teammates. But today they are on the opposite camps and are joint top goalscorers at five apiece.

For a record, while Mbappe has won the World Cup in 2018, Messi is yet to taste this victory. Will today be the turning point or will Mbappe top up his past achievements?
