Lionel Messi, the Argentina captain, is one match away from qualifying for his final dance at this level of the game

Hosted in the Qatar city of Lusail, Argentina go toe-to-toe with Croatia in the 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-final at for a place in the final.

He and his compatriots will cross paths with the formidable Croatian force captained by Luka Modric. Dubbed the battle of the number 10s, tonight’s match will see either Messi or Modric for the last time in the highest game on earth.

Croatia was the 2018 World Cup finalist and is going to try for its consecutive appearances after losing out to France. Argentina were the 2014 finalists and Germany got the better of them. This time, with Lionel Messi, it will try to go at it once again.

The winner between Argentina and Croatia will face either France or Morocco playing their semifinal match on Wednesday, Dec. 14 at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor at 21h00.
