Reigning World Cup kings France face a reinvigorated England while hot favourites Portugal will do battle with the surprise package but formidable Morocco in the quarterfinals hosted in Qatar tonight. The winners of these two fixtures will meet next  Wednesday.

The high-flying England national team has one of the toughest clashes yet in the 2022 FIFA World Cup staged in Qatar yet.

They meet the holding world champions France at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor tonight – 21h00.

The English are known for their historic culture in football and the being the home to one of the most competitive football leagues in the world. They need to come out tonight and showcase their rich album of the game in the field of play.

France are the drum-banging winners of the 2018 edition of the most beautiful games the world has ever seen. Boosting world stars, Portugal are favoured to beg this match and go all the way to the finals. They put Switzerland to the sword (6-1) in the round of 16 to set today’s date. It was a mesmerising performance for the Portuguese.

However, their opponents prepared for this monumental battle by beating Spain (3-0 on penalties) against all odds after dragging the 2010 world champions to the fruitless extra-time.

The Morocco-Portugal do-or-die game will be a fight against the feisty teamspirit of African sons and the crème de la crème of European protégés.

The winners in England-France and Portugal-Morocco will meet on Wednesday, Dec. 14 in the semi-final at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor.

The final is on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 17h00 while the 3rd place play-off will be held on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 17h00.
