The round of eight (8) in the 2022 FIFA World Cup staged in Qatar kicks off this evening with Brazil playing Croatia and later at night, Argentina will face Netherlands.

Croatia in a crunch draw against Brazil in the quarterfinals of the World Cup at Education City Stadium in Ar Rayyan on Friday Dec. 9 at 17h00.

This is the stern test for both countries in a match which will decide who goes through to the semi-finals. Perhaps this might be more so for the Croatian than Brazilians. For their part, they are not pushovers. Croatia were the runners-up in the 2018 edition of the World Cup after they lost to France. 

Brazil, on the other hand, are the super favourites in this year’s tournament. They humiliated South Korea 4-1 on their way to this quarter-finals match today. However, Croatia scrapped through penalties after a 1-1 draw with Japan in the last 16.

Netherlands vs Argentina

An epic draw that is highly anticipated by football lovers across the world is the all-stars studded tie between Netherlands and Argentina.

They clash in the quarter-finals of the World Cup at Lusail Stadium in Lusail tonight at 21h00 to do battle for the semi-final spot next.

Captained by Lionel Messi, Argentina are set to bid farewell for their talisman in his presumably last dance in this game at international level.

Netherlands beat the United States of America 3-1 in the round of 16 while Argentina narrowly defeated Australia 2-1 to get to the quarterfinals.
