Belgium and Germany dumped out of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar

Germany have been kicked out of the World Cup in Group stages for the second time in a row. They beat Costa Rica 4-2 last night but could not reduce the goal difference Spain had.

Playing in the same Group E, Spain were beaten by Japan 2-1 and finished second and groups runner-up. Japan topped the group of six points and will play Croatia on Monday Dec. 5 at 17h00.

In the evening fixtures, Belgium drew against Croatia at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium in Al Rayyan and bowed out of the tournament. Croatia finished second in Group E behind Morocco who won 2-1 against the Canadians at Al-Thumama Stadium in Doha.

Morocco will face Spain in the last 16 knockout stage on Tuesday Dec. 6 at 17h00.

The Thursday story is Germany, Belgium, Costa Rica and Canada have been eliminated in the group phase of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
