Netherlands beat the host Qatar 2-0 in their final group-stage matches at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor yesterday.

Having missed out by not qualifying four years ago, the 2010 finalists topped Group A to progress to the knock-out phase of the FIFA 2022 World Cup. Qatar exits the tournament without a single point in all games played in their own backyard. 

However, the Netherlands will play the United States of America (USA) who finished second in Group B. The USA overcame a feisty Iranian national team by a single goal at Al-Thumama Stadium in Doha last night. Their encounter with the Netherlands will be on Saturday Dec. 3 at 17h00.

In the same vein, England trashed Wales 3-0 in Group B at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium in Al-Rayyan Tuesday night.

Emerging as group leaders for English it means a date with Group A second-placed Senegal on Sunday Dec. 4 at 21h00. Senegal qualified for the next stage after defeating Ecuador 2-1 at Khalifa International Stadium in Al Rayyan) yesterday.
