The second day of the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) 2022 World Cup brings to the public three back-to-back fixtures in different stadiums in the host nation of Qatar today.

Group B: England vs Iran 

The favourites on paper in this group, England, are expected to cruise through this phase into the elimination. They kick off their World Cup with the u fancied Iran at Khalifa International Stadium in Doha Monday afternoon at 15h00.

England boost one of the most competitive leagues in the world. It is the quality of the league that has produced so many great players. Iran is not a model football state per se but games bring out the best out of competing nations.

Group A: Senegal vs Netherlands

This group A match is the pick of the day among the football pundits in Africa. Senegal will face-off Netherlands without their star-performer Sadio Mane at Al-Thumama Stadium in Doha Monday night at 18h00.

Spotting a rejuvenated side, the Netherlands are back after missing out on the 2018 edition that was staged in Russia. They are tipped as one of the teams to progress to the advanced stages of the World Cup and challenge for the coveted trophy.

Featuring in the same group are Ecuador and Qatar who opened the global festival of the biggest sport on earth yesterday. The former defeated the home side by a convincing 2-0.

Group B: United States of America vs Wales

The Monday fixtures close the day with a night duel between the United States of America (USA) and Wales at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium in Al Tayyan at 21h00.
