In the only DStv Premiership fixture today Marumo Gallants FC prepared a fierce battle against Kaizer Chiefs FC at Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg at 15h00.

Gallants have gone six games in the new season with a win. Their five meagre points arise from draws. Thus, they are not losing many games either; which is good for them. It goes without saying that they need to start winning games to improve the standings on the log. They are currently rooted at the bottom.

Quite similarly, Chiefs lay 14th with 7 points on the league table after six honoured fixtures. Of these played matches, they have mastered merely two wins and one draw. Owing to their history and dominance in the past, Kaizer Chiefs are underperforming by their own standards.

This afternoon though, both sides seriously needed a win as they would battle for the three points to improve their positions on the league table.
