Kaizer Chiefs Football Club and Mamelodi Sundowns FC have completed the last quarterfinals matches of the MTN Top8 Cup on Sunday.
They have joined AmaZulu FC and Orlando Pirates FC who qualified for the semi-finals on Saturday.
Stellenbosch (3) 1-1 (4) Chiefs
Chiefs narrowly made it through to the semi-finals of the one-winner take all MTN8 Cup. They beat Stellenbosch on penalties at Danie Craven Stadium in Stellenbosch, Cape Town.
Playing at their own backyard, Stellies [Stellenbosch] drew first blood on the 48th minute through a tap-in by Sihle Nduli after Ngcobo made a blunder at the back.
As fate would have it, Chiefs were given a chance to level matters when there was a mix-up between Stellies goalkeeper Lee Langeveldt and the defender. Their former striker Ashley du Preez, who now ironically represents Amakhosi, pounced and scored (58′) to make it 1-1 in regulation time.
The duel went further to extra-time that did not result in a winner with Chiefs getting a rare victory in penalties. Their captain Itumeleng Khune made a surprise return to the game on time to save two spot kicks from Stellenbosch.

Sundowns 2-0 SuperSport
In Pretoria there was an early derby for the semi-finals slots which was comfortably grabbed by Sundowns at ABSA Tuks Stadium.
SuperSport nearly did a fantastic job on frustrating the host but their resilience was broken late in the game by Marcelo Allende’s cool finish (80′) coming from the bench.
The game opened up as the visitors pushed for an equalizer. However, Sundowns’ deft striker Abubeker Nasser doubled the lead in the 90th minute. This MTN Top8 Cup quarter-finals ended 2-0 which ensured the start for the defence for the holders, Mamelodi Sundowns.
