The MTN 8 Cup challenge kicks off today featuring eight teams that finished from number one on the log to position eight.

Saturday will see off two scheduled games where Cape Town City Football Club (FC) will welcome AmaZulu FC in Cape Town in the afternoon. Meanwhile Royal AM will host Orlando Pirates FC in Chatsworth in the evening.

On Sunday, Stellenbosch FC and Kaizer Chiefs FC will match up to make amends for their midweek heavy league-game losses. This tie will be held in Stellenbosch in the afternoon.

The last quarter-finals game locks the two Pretoria clubs – Mamelodi Sundowns FC and SuperSport United FC – in Pretoria at night. The former are the current cup champions and will be hosting the latter.

The MTN8 Cup comes very early at the beginning of the 2022/2023 season and is the first cup tournament in the Premier Soccer League (PSL). The cup winners claim all the prize money and jewel that goes with it.
