After a busy Nedbank Cup weekend, the DStv Premiership League games return to full action this evening. The league race for the top hours will be in full display in four different venue.

In this battle for maximum points, Orlando Pirates FC seek to improve their league performances when they host Bloemfontein Celtic FC at Orlando Stadium in Soweto at 17:00.

Laying 4th on the log with 29 points after 18 games, Pirates victory may reduce Mamelodi Sundowns’ lead at the top to merely four points. Still far-off the mark since Sundowns are not involved in these midweek league games. However, they may hop Swallows FC (on 30 points) and take the 3rd place provided the latter drop all three points today.

Celtic sit gingerly on the 11th spot on the table. A win for them will go a long way. A draw will not be bad but a loss will further threaten their stay in top-flight football next season.
