Iconic golfer Tiger Woods embroiled in a freak car rollover

One of the greatest American professional golfers of all time, Tiger Woods, is hospitalised after a freak car crash Tuesday morning, CNN reported.

According to CBS, the was no sign of ‘driver impairment’ and Woods was driving alone his SUV when it rolled over. The legendary golfer was assisted out of the wreck by the ‘jaws of life’. Further, CNN said that he suffered multiple-leg injuries and was being treated at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, the top trauma hospital in Southern California.

CBS added:

‘One Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department official deemed Woods “lucky to be alive,” crediting the vehicle (2021 Genesis SUV) and Woods’ decision to wear a seatbelt.’

Tiger Woods suffered and survived multiple setbacks in his long golfing career. After his golfing performance dipped due to some of these unfortunate incidents, he was slowly returning to his former best. He won the PGA Masterd in 2019. Aged 45, it is early days to indicate whether he will continue with his golfing career as he is still under intense medical observation.

Tiger Woods won the U.S. Masters at Augusta in 1997 at age 21, just a year after turning professional. He became the youngest man and the first African American to beg this major title.
