The Confederation Association Football (CAF) Champions League (CL) matches resume tonight with two major draws and continues tomorrow with four set out fixtures.

The Champions League (CL) is the biggest tournament showdown in African club football. It returns to action tonight under the auspices of the CAF. There are two fixtures for the Friday night kickoff – see below.

South Africa is represented by two giant clubs out of the Premier Soccer League (PSL): Mamelodi Sundowns FC and Kaizer Chiefs FC. Both match were scheduled for Saturday; however, the Chiefs clash against Wydad of Morocco has been postponed.

The Moroccan authorities denied Kaizer Chiefs permission to enter their country. This may well have to do with the deadly Covid-19 variant discovered in SA late last year. Even so, the coronavirus outbreak affected all nations of the world. The pandemic is still very much alive in all parts of the globe.

Zamalek (Egypt ) vs MC Alger (Algeria) – 21:00

Saturday. Feb. 13 CAF CL Fixtures:

Esperance Tunis (Tunisia) vs Teungueth (Senegal) – 15:00

Mazembe (Democratic Republic of Congo) vs CR Belouizdad (Algeria) – 15:00

Horoya (Guinea) vs Petro Atletico (Angola) – 18:00

Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa) vs Al-Hilal Omdurman (Sudan) – 18:00

Wydad (Morocco) vs Kaizer Chiefs (South Africa) – Postponed
