Mamelodi Sundowns are three points clear at the summit of the DStv Premiership League after defeating Black Leopards in Thohoyandou on Wednesday, Jan. 27.

Leopards opened the scoring in the 46th minute barely at the start of the 2nd half through Ovidy  Karuru. And the game opened up with both clubs exchanging exhilarating attacks.

Peter Shalulile struck on the 63rd minute to even the scores. A minute from that equalizer, Mothobi Mvala was shown a red card after pulling Rodney Ramagalela outside of the 18-yard area who was clear towards goal. The Brazilians were reduced and finished the game with 10 men in the league clash.

Right in the referee’s optional time Shalulile (90+4′) got his brace to give the defending champions an all important win away from home after three consecutive league draws.

As the league table stands, Mamelodi Sundowns are on 30 points after 14 games. Trailing behind with 27 points on the standings are SuperSport United (2nd) and Swallows FC (3rd) respectively. Suffice to say they have only played 13 games so far.
