The newly promoted Swallows FC are on the cusp of climbing the DStv Premiership League ladder this evening, Jan. 20.

Playing at home against Chippa United FC, the 17:00 kick league clash is a great encounter for Swallows. This league draw will be held at Volkswagen Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto.     

The Birds, as Swallows are affectionately known in South African football circles, sit 2nd on the standings with 25 points on the trot. Mamelodi Sundowns FC drew with Bloemfontein Celtic yesterday and moved their points tally to 26 after 12 league games. A win for Swallows will see them jump Sundowns and top the league with 28 points.

Chippa United, The Team of Choice, laying 12th on the log with nine points, will not be a pushover by any inkling. Though visitors, they will be hoping to improve their league position in this match.

This backdrop sets up a mouthwatering fight this Wednesday evening in Soweto. There are other (5) league games on schedule today.
