Covid-19 infections have shot up sharply by 14, 046 and 411 deaths on Wednesday, Health Minister, Dr. Zweli Mkhize announced.
Yesterday’s confirmed cases takes the overall coronavirus count in South Africa to 954, 258 and the cumulative number of the deceased stands at 25, 657.
At the rapid rate the second wave of Covid-19 is spreading, Provinces like the Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng may face stricter control measures, Mkhize warned. Additionally, these areas are deemed Covid-19 hotspots at the moment.
