Chiefs face steely SuperSport

Tuesday | December 15, 2020

The DStv Premiership League swivels back into the thick of things after a week’s break due to the MTN8 Cup final that saw Orlando Pirates overcome the stubborn Bloemfontein Celtic on Saturday.

There are four league fixtures this Tuesday evening (of Dec 15). All the matches are scheduled to commence at 19:30.

SuperSport United vs Kaizer Chiefs

In their last match a week ago, Kaizer Chiefs managed a draw at home against Black Leopards. Tonight, they travel to Pretoria for a date with SuperSport United.

SuperSport are one of the tougher opponents in the Premier Soccer League (PSL).

Their backyard, Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium, will provide fine and cooler conditions under the Pretoria sky night after some good rains.

The difference between the two Gauteng clubs is a mere 2-point yet, a gap of six places set them apart in the log.

With Mamelodi Sundowns leading the pack with 12 points after six games, a victory for SuperSport will cut the league tally by two points. Meanwhile a Chiefs win will give them 10 points – enough to fall within the top eight bracket they are currently out of.

A draw will not be good for Chiefs, far worse if they lose tonight’s encounter having only one game in the DStv Premiership 2020/21 season.
