A day after the Minister of Health Dr. Zweli Mkhize declared a second wave, South Africa recorded an increase in the number of coronavirus infections tracked daily.
On Thursday, 8, 166 new cases were confirmed with 173 Covid-19 deaths reported. This followed yet another rise on Wednesday, the day the minister went official with alarming increases to declare that the country has entered the second wave of the pandemic.
According to the Health Department, Covid-19 cases have accumulated to 836, 764, while the death toll is at 22, 747 to date.
