The Wednesday DStv Premiership League tie between Kaizer Chiefs and Black Leopards ended in a 2-2 deadlock at FNB Stadium last night.

In the initial 25 minutes of the first half, Chiefs were down by two goals. Thanks to a brace by Ovidy Karuru (12′, 22′) that gave Leopards a head start.

The host clawed back with Nkosingiphile Nhlakanipho Ngcobo’s 69th minute goal and levelled matter on the 86th minute through Khama Billiat.

Last night’s game is exemplary of how the Premier Soccer League has improved through the years, the narrowing of the gap between the top and the lower teams that is.

But for Chiefs whose points are hard to come by, the draw was yet another stumbling block affirming how difficult times have been and continue to be on that scale.

There was no improvement from either side as they are both languishing out of the top eight clubs on the log standings, with Leopards worse off on the 15th spot while Chiefs are positioned 12th.
