The 2020 examination “mathematics paper 2” and “physical science paper 2” that leaked before time will be written again nationwide, the Department of Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga announced on Friday.

Matriculants who had a stop-and-start academic year which nearly called off due to Covid-19 outbreak have to bear the harrowing hours of practice once more to sit for these two papers.

The department commissioned investigation on the leaks of the papers. According to basic education quality assurance body, Umalusi, the credibility of both papers was “irrevocably damaged”.

Consequently, the examination for the mathematics paper will be written on Dec. 15 and science on Dec. 17, 2020 respectively.

Motshekga said this is the first time the decision for grade 12 examination re-write nationally was made.
