Covid-19 cases jumped to 4, 173 on Wednesday, sparking new fears of a possible localized lockdown in some part of South Africa.

Accordingly, SA President Cyril Ramaphosa will address the nation on Thursday night in relation to this resurgence of coronavirus cases.

There have been 65 more Covid-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours, taking the tally to 21, 709, the Department of Health confirmed. Conversely, the total number of infections as of Wednesday Dec. 2 are 796, 472 since the initial cases were recorded back in March.
