Bloemfontein Celtic are upbeat about their chances to play in the MTN8 Cup final. This radiating confidence flows from their first leg 1-1 draw away to SuperSport United the past Sunday in Pretoria. Again, they eliminated Mamelodi Sundowns, another indomitable Premier Soccer League heavyweight, en route to the semifinals.

Today, both clubs are gearing up for their all-or-nothing second leg game at Dr. Petrus Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein at 15:00.

SuperSport started the new (2020/21) season relatively well and their midweek win will most likely spare them on. They will count on this momentum to get the better of Celtic albeit their deadlock at home last week.

Contrary, the midweek loss to Orlando Pirates does not bode well for Celtic going into the MTN8 Cup’s penultimate encounter. Their league performance so far does not inspire at all. Granted, cup games are a different bet altogether.

The winner (after the aggregation of both matches) will face either the seeming MTN8 Cup hot-favourites Orlando Pirates or the lukewarm Kaizer Chiefs in the final.
