DStv Premiership League 2020/21 swings into action this weekend. The new title sponsor, DStv – the South African satellite subscriber media giant – will see two of the most accomplished clubs lock horns on Saturday, Oct. 24.

Kaizer Chiefs launch their league campaign on home turf against the holding champions Mamelodi Sundowns at FNB Stadium in Soweto.

This Johannesburg pick-of-weekend face-off kick starts at 15:30.

Chiefs will be hoping to continue from their last weekend’s impressive start to the new season. To the extent that Amakhosi [Chiefs] let the league honours slip on the final day of last season, this tie has the potential to turn into a grudge match.

While The Brazilians [Sundowns] did not begin well in the 2020/21 season after Bloemfontein Celtic booted them out of the MTN8 Cup quarterfinals, they will be looking forward to make amends.

The reassuring thing about tomorrow’s draw is that both teams will be contesting for three points. A stalemate results into sharing a point apiece, which is a very likely outcome earlier in the season.
