As the United States, Brazil, India record sharp increases, the total number of coronavirus infections in South Africa are on a drastic decline.

This has triggered a call for a total removal of lockdown regulations. The county is on Level 2 measures to control the scare of  Covid-19 spread.

In the past 24 hours, there have been 956 new cases and 52 people lost their lives. 

The current figures stand at 650 749 cases and deaths 15 499.  Accordingly, the overall number of  recoveries is 579 289.
