Pioneer Foods withdraws Liqui Fruit Red Grape 330 Cans

Pioneer Foods is withdrawing Liqui Fruit Red Grape canned juice due to “small shards of glass in a single batch” discovered in a drink.

National Consumer Commission Deputy Commissioner Thezi Mabuza  edges customers to return the concerned batch/es of Liqui Fruit to any outlet that carries and sells the product.

On Sep. 06, Pioneer Foods published the specific details according to “product and best before” as:

  • Pioneer Foods Product Code:    27327
  •  Outer case Barcode: 6001240225615
  • Shrink pack Barcode: 6001240225608
  • Single Unit Barcode:60012402255 92 (printed on side of can) 
  • Date coding: BB 01.04.2021 C TIME and BB 02.04.2021 C TIME

The juice beverage producer is conducting a probe to get to the bottom of the reported problem. Pioneer Foods is one of the biggest producers of fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) in South Africa.

As required by regulation, it has ordered that the affected batch of Liqui Fruit Red Grape be brought back to retailers.

According to Mabuza, the stores need not be the ones where the juice was bought. Neither are the receipts necessary upon returning, she emphased.
