Barely three days from a successful cup semi-final, Mamelodi Sundowns are back to defend their Absa Premiership title against Orlando Pirates at Dobsonville Stadium stadium in Soweto.

The battle between the colossal Premier Soccer League (PSL) titans starts at 18:00.

Tonight’s clash resumes the league matches since suspension in March. A win for The Brazilians edges them closer to log-leaders Kaizer Chiefs on 48 points.

Sundowns are also one game behind. The Buccaneers are on 40 points and victory for them will also push them within a point to their nemesis this evening.

Pundits say Sundowns have an edge over Pirates as a result of having played over the weekend. Of course, the latter last played competitive football back in early autumn.

Pursuant to the Covid-19 outbreak, all the remaining PSL games will be played and wrapped up in Gauteng under a “bio-bubble” arrangement.
