African National Congress (ANC) struggle stalwart Andrew Mlangeni died at One Military hospital on Tuesday night.

Mlangeni was the only Rivonia trialist living. Born in 1925, he celebrated his 95th birthday in June.

He was arrested in 1963. His trial took place in 1964; he was imprisoned for 26 years in Robben Island alongside the late former South Africa’s first demonstratically-electected President Nelson Mandela.
