Chippa United are notorious for one thing and one thing only, that is: firing coaches at a drop of the hat.

On Tuesday, the Eastern Cape-based club was on the receiving end. Norman Mapeza quit and the club is without a head coach.

Upon leaving the club after five months on the job, Mapeza said that when the desired results are not forthcoming, coaches face the axe, unfortunately. Nevertheless, he left on his own accord.

For his short stint at the club, Mapeza lifted them to 11th on the log. They are seperated by merely five (5) points against bottom of the league Amazulu FC. Chippa have played 23 games and have only seven (7) remaining to finish off the 2019/20  season.

The club is battling to stay in the Absa Premiership league and avoid the relegation drop.

The Zimbabwean coach had results fairly going his way on his arrival at Chippa. However, the favourable outcomes soon disappeared but the team looked relatively stable and promising.

Mapeza parted ways with Chippa United regardless of a win over the past weekend against Amazulu in the league.
