South Africa [Bafana Bafana] secured a slender win over Sudan in the Cameroon 2021 Afcon qualification match at Orlando Stadium in Soweto, Johannesburg.

The stubborn Sudanese gave their worth in a tight afternoon contest of the Group C. Sudan came into this game with their tails up after drubbing São Tomé and Príncipe 4-0 and SA lost 2-0 to Ghana.

Bafana Bafana broke their resilience through Lebohang Phiri’s left-footed snapshot [45′], the only goal of the game. The half-full Orlando Stadium erupted into unbriddled joy.

The height and aggression of the visitors gave the frightening moment but the resolute Bafana Bafana defense was always alert and well-marshaled. In a game where SA lost many chances they might live to rue, the Afcon qualifiers may be decided on head-to-head and goals scored or conceded.
