It has been five (5) weeks since Bidvest Wits played a league match yet, they lay 3rd on the log. In their last encounter, they beat Chippa United on the road by a goal to nil back in Oct. 1, 2019. From that point, they have not had an Absa Premiership action. In the interim, on Oct. 18, 2019 they were eliminated in the Telkom Knockout Cup by Maritzburg United on penalties (3-1) after a 1-1 draw at the end of regulation time. Three weeks without a competitive game, they will be hosting one of the Premier Soccer League tough proponents from Pretoria, i.e. SuperSport United FC.

Johannesburg – Out of competitive game time Bidvest Wits return to action in the Absa Premiership league tonight [20:00] against SuperSport at Bidvest Stadium.

The Clever Boys have only played six (6) to date. However, they are on position three (3) on the table with 15 points, a 10-point deficit from the log leaders Kaizer Chiefs with 25 out of 10 matches.

Surprisingly, their rival [Matsatsantsa a Pitori – SuperSport] tonight are behind them with 14 points  after 10 games.

Evidently, Wits started the 2019/20 Absa Premiership season well enough to stay so long on the top five of the log one month and a week without a game.  This despite having went down (1-0) to Baroka FC at home on the 6th of August.
