Two late Chiefs goals to Amazulu restore log lead

Two late goals from Leonardo Castro [84′] and Khama Billiat [90′] were enough to restore Kaizer Chiefs’ lead on top of the league yesterday afternoon at King Goodwill Zwelithini stadium.

Playing home, Amazulu showed resilience for the most part until they were undone by cross that the Amazulu goalkeeper Siyabonga Mbatha parried unsuccessfully. Lacking in the box, Castro noded home. The game was marred by dubious officiating, however.

Right in the death, Billiat broke away after receiving a through pass with a blistering pace to set himself free for slotting the ball on the side of the goalkeeper to insulated the score: 2-0.

Six games on with 13 points, Chiefs leapfrogged Mamelodi Sundowns [11 points], Bidvest Wits [12 points] and inclipsed Polokwane City [13 points] with a goal-difference.
