Chippa United F.C. have enlisted the services of Duran “Cappy” Francis from the development structures of the club.

He takes over from Clinton Larson fired after a 5-game winless streak in the Absa Premiership.

The 42-year-old Francis played for Santos, Ajax Cape Town and Bay United in a career that spanned 14 years in the footballing field. “Although I do miss being on the field I enjoy watching and giving instructions…,” said Francis on January 3, 2011 interview with Chumani Bambani of The Herald.

His derby game in top flight football at the helm will be against Bloemfontein Celtic F.C. on Saturday afternoon (15:00) at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.
